Cedar Transmission and Automotive is a full service auto repair facility, specializing in the repair of automatic and manual transmissions, transfer cases and differentials. Along with a dedicated rebuild facility and state of the art tooling, Cedar Performance retains a crew of highly trained diagnosticians experienced in all areas of auto repair.

Cedar Transmission & Automotive is owned and operated by business partners, Joe Mower and Bill Overson. Originally established in 2009 as a satellite location of St George Transmission by the original owner, St George Transmission 2 began serving the good folks of Cedar City and Iron County with Joe and Bill as employees. In 2017, Joe Mower and Bill Overson purchased the business and Cedar Transmission & Automotive was born!

JOE MOWER
CO-OWNER / REBUILDER
Joe has a vast understanding of the automotive repair industry that spans nearly 30 years. He began his career in 1995 as a dealership apprentice technician for front wheel drive automatic transmission before moving into the aftermarket repair industry where he specialized in automatic/manual transmission repair, transfer case, differential and electrical diagnostics. Joe's diagnostic and repair experience and knowledge are second to none and he has a passion for providing the most accurate and quality repairs possible for our valued customers.
BILL OVERSON
CO-OWNER / MANAGER
Bill is a former marine who has spent the bulk of his professional civilian career in the aftermarket automotive industry. Bill has served in many roles from delivery driver to counter person, assistant manager, store manager and district manager and truly understands how business should be done from top to bottom and more importantly, how customers should be treated. He cares about each and every customer and cares about solving the customers problem the right way, the first time.

SERVICE WRITER
Jacob Overson began his career in the trades, where his commitment to getting the job done right and on time quickly earned him leadership roles. As his career progressed, Jacob transitioned to the customer service side of the industry and discovered a passion for helping people. Now, as a service writer at Cedar Transmission, Jacob takes pride in delivering honest, valuable service to every customer, ensuring they feel confident and informed about their automotive needs.

LARRY LANE
TECHNICIAN
Larry Lane is a true wizard of the wrenches, with over 35 years of experience in the automotive industry. His passion for fixing what’s broken started as a kid, working alongside his dad on project cars. Ever since then, Larry knew he was destined for a career in auto repair. What Larry enjoys most about his job is the challenge of taking something that doesn’t work and making it run smoothly again. Outside of the garage, Larry’s passion extends to motorcycles—especially Harley-Davidsons. In his spare time, you can find him working on bikes or exploring the great outdoors in his side-by-side.

Dylan Jones is a dedicated and hardworking automotive technician who thrives on hands-on learning. His passion for auto repair began at a young age, tinkering with small engines and discovering the satisfaction of fixing things himself. Now, as a professional, Dylan enjoys continuing to learn and perfect his skills in the shop. Outside of work, Dylan is an avid outdoorsman. When he’s not under the hood, you’ll find him riding horses, camping, or hunting

Hayden Giles is a determined automotive technician with a natural talent for problem-solving. His passion for the industry runs deep—passed down through generations from his dad and grandpa, who gave him his first project truck at just fourteen. Since then, Hayden’s love for working on his own vehicles has grown into a career as a skilled and versatile technician. Starting his professional journey has taught him that to be the best, you need to work with the best. Outside of the shop, Hayden enjoys spending quality time with his wife and kids. When he's not with his family, you’ll likely find him working on one of his many project vehicles.
